High pressure laminate is particurlarly hygienic, does not require any specific maintenance
other than normal cleaning.
Its impermeable surface can be easily cleaned
and disinfected with hot water, steam
and common non abrasive household cleaners. The only precaution: avoid using strong acids
and bases
. HPL is antistatic, therefore it does attract dust.

The following are some of the frequently asked questions on cleaning of HPL; for more detailed technical information, you may download the HPL cleaning and maintenance guide.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
With a soft, clean cloth. Avoid any abrasive tool
or cleaner.
Hot water. Cleaners and disinfectants without strong acids and bases.
Strong acids and alkaline solutions may stain the surface.
Specific products can be used, such as disinfectants used in hospitals. Steam can also be used.
L’HPL has excellent resistance to wear and scratching. Its surface may nevertheless be damaged by abrasive substances or tools such as sandpaper or steel/wire wool.
Thanks to its resistance to heat, one of the most common applications working surfaces, in kitchens in particular.
HPL is non considered flammable. It only burns in presence of direct flame; even in this case, it has intrinsic properties of low flame propagation.
NO. HPL surfaces are approved for use in contact with foodstuff.
High pressure laminates are polymerised, thus chemically inert. Gas emissions from the surface and edges are so low to be imperceptible.
In addition to its excellent hygienic and safety qualities, its non porous surface works as a barrier against possible formaldehyde emissions from underlying wood base substrates.
Formaldehyde emission levels of HPL are well below the limit set for wood based materials.
Laminate can be disposed of as inert urban waste, accordino to standing national / regional laws.
